On June 10, the Phase I rooftop distributed PV smart carport project at Qiangli Jucai Industrial Park officially commenced. Representatives from all involved parties—including the developer Qiangli Jucai, the construction contractor Magnificence Construction Engineering, and the design institute CECI 11th Design Institute—gathered on-site to witness the launch of this green energy project.
Located on the rooftop parking lot of the new Qiangli Jucai Industrial Park, the project adopts an integrated BIPV solution, with a total installed capacity of 3.596 MW. Operating under a “self-consumption with surplus power fed to the grid” model, the project is expected to generate approximately 3.9 million kWh of electricity annually, with total revenue over a 25-year lifecycle projected to reach RMB 75 million. The system is scheduled to be grid-connected by the end of July and undergo final acceptance in August.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Liu Wei, the project leader from Qiangli Jucai, emphasized: “We must adhere to safety first, quality as the foundation, and compliance with transparency. In our pursuit of the‘High-Quality PV Project Award,’ we will strengthen process management and work together to make this rooftop PV carport project a long-lasting, benchmark project under the sun!”
Mr. Lian, a representative from construction contractor Magnificence Construction Engineering, congratulated Qiangli Jucai on the successful commencement of the project and made a firm commitment:“To ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery, we will assemble an elite team, with safety control as the cornerstone and on-schedule delivery as the goal. We will strictly follow standardized operating procedures to deliver a premium project that stands the test of time.”
Mr. Zeng Haiyong, President of the 11th Design Institute, also remarked that a full-cycle quality management system would be established, and strict compliance with implementation standards would be enforced. Design team will closely collaborate with Qiangli Jucai and Magnificence Construction Engineering to conduct joint technical research, develop standardized solutions, fulfill safety responsibilities, and accumulate transferable engineering experience.”
Adopting BIPV technology to build a smart PV carport represents an innovative fusion of functional space and sustainable value. The BIPV system deeply integrates solar panels into the carport structure, achieving "dual-use" functionality—providing shade and shelter while transforming unused space into a sustainable energy asset, directly supporting EV charging needs.
This “spatial value-add + energy transition” model presents an ideal low-carbon solution for commercial and industrial applications.
The BIPV smart carport redefines the role of traditional parking areas by transforming them into energy-generating units. It enables self-consumption of clean electricity, reducing operational power costs and creating long-term economic benefits. By replacing fossil fuels with renewable electricity, it helps enterprises meet carbon reduction targets and improve their green image. Ultimately, it offers an integrated solution that combines architectural aesthetics, functional utility, and clean energy supply.
Following a closing speech by Mr. Zhou, President of Qiangli Jucai, the event culminated with a celebratory cannon salute fired by project leaders from all participating units, marking a successful commencement in an atmosphere of enthusiastic applause.
The smart PV carport project at Qiangli Jucai Industrial Park is not only a large-scale application of clean energy but also a vivid demonstration of how technology can empower industrial spaces. It provides a scalable, replicable “PV + transportation” model for industrial parks across China, accelerating the journey of more enterprises toward a zero-carbon future.
